After losing my job on October 18, I was evicted from my apartment and have been doing everything I can to keep my family safe. I’ve been staying at an extended stay hotel with my daughter and two dogs, using what little unemployment I had left, but now I have no money and nowhere else to turn.

Now, my car—the only place we have left to live—is about to be repossessed unless I can pay the full balance on my car loan and the repossession fees. I also need to pay my car insurance by February 22, or it will be canceled, which means I won’t even be able to drive or live in my car. Without a car, I can’t get to job interviews or support my family, and I’m terrified of what will happen to us in the freezing New Jersey winter.

I’ve been applying for jobs and going on interviews, but haven’t been hired yet. I’m doing everything I can, but I’m running out of options. I feel embarrassed to ask, but I am truly desperate.
