My name is Olivia, and I’m asking for help for the dog who has been by my side through every chapter of my life.

Ivy Cloud became my soul dog when I was 15 years old. I’m now 28, a mother of two daughters, and she has been with me through everything. She was there through my teenage years, heartbreaks, milestones, moves, motherhood, and every challenge life has thrown my way. We’ve overcome homelessness together. Before I had children, she was my first baby. Before I had a support system, she was my best friend.

For 14 years, she has loved me unconditionally.

Recently, she has been diagnosed with medial patellar luxation (MPL), a painful knee condition that is common in older Maltese dogs. Her mobility is becoming increasingly limited, and she struggles with discomfort in her knees. On top of that, she is suffering from severe dental disease, including infected and rotted teeth that need to be removed before they cause even more pain and complications.

The veterinary costs for her knee surgery and dental treatment are more than I can afford on my own. As a family with two children, we’re doing our best to provide for the family, I am reaching out for help because I cannot imagine giving up on the dog who has never given up on me.

She isn’t “just a dog.” She is family. She has been a constant source of comfort through some of the hardest moments of my life. She has watched my daughters grow, and they have never known a life without her.
