My name is Amenda, and I’m reaching out with the heaviest heart and a desperate plea — my beloved dog Avett is in critical need of surgery to remove a cancerous tumor in his mouth. Time is not on our side. The tumor is aggressive and growing fast. Without immediate surgery, it will spread, and I could lose the soul who has been my constant for the past 15 years.

Avett isn’t just a dog. He’s my best friend, my shadow, my heart. I got him when he was a floppy-eared puppy, and we’ve grown up together. Through college exams, heartbreaks, new jobs, cross-state moves, and every milestone in between — Avett has been there. Now he’s a sweet senior, a “grandpaw” who still loves baroofing, cuddling with the cats, splashing in his kiddie pool, and savoring his favorite dinner — Hunter’s Stew.

He still has joy. He still has life. But cancer is threatening to steal all of that from him far too soon.

I’ve never asked for help like this before, but the cost of the surgery is far beyond what I can manage alone — and I’m running out of time. Every day that passes, the tumor grows. Every moment counts.
