Hi, My name is Tonya Burns and I am the proud mommy of a 5-year-old Siberian Husky. We are trying to raise funds to help Mowgli get lung surgery for spontaneous pneumothorax, which is air leaking into his chest cavity decreasing his ability to breathe.
Our story is not unlike so many people in need out there but I hope something resonates with you when you hear our story and would consider helping me save my baby.
Mowgli is a fighter, since the age of 1.5 yo he's had epilepsy and we have seizures about every 20 days. He is on 19 pills a day which consist of phenobarbital, Keppra, and zonisamide - all of which makes him wobbly and woozy at times, but through it all, he remains my happy, typical husky.
But last night he ended up in the ER with a new ailment and air surrounding his lungs suffocating him. He is currently stable in the ER but his prognosis is a CT scan ($2-4K) and surgery to remove the piece of his lung that is leaking ($10-$15,000), I'm desperate. I can't let him go...he's brought so much love and light into my life. I'm a single dog mom of two four legged furbabies and I've never considered relying on anyone to help, until now. My heart is aching and I will do anything for my baby.
I would be happy to connect anyone willing to help with my vet directly, show detailed bills or provide anything to prove that your help would help save his life. If he doesn't have the surgery our next step would be to put him to sleep. Even writing those words makes me cry. I know he can still have a good life after surgery and I won't give up hope.
Please help me save my Mowgli - I can't let him go.
