Support My Frog Conservation Efforts

Donation protected
My name is Jonathan Kolby (also known as MyFrogCroaked), and I'm working to save the world, one frog at a time! With your support, I can spend more of my time protecting species from extinction and helping children (and adults!) feel connected with nature.

On this page you can make a one-time donation of any amount. If you prefer to make a small monthly donation, please visit my other page at: https://www.patreon.com/MyFrogCroaked

For the past 10 years, I've been working to discover new ways to combat the global spread of amphibian chytrid fungus, which is now worst disease event in recorded history. I spend a lot of my time supporting the Honduras Amphibian Rescue and Conservation Center , a project I created with the Henry Dooly Zoo to prevent amphibian extinctions in the cloud forest of Cusuco National Park, Honduras.

But I need your support to do more!
I recently discovered that love can be the most powerful tool to help conservation. I'm very active in science communication, but now I also want to use my skills to help create wildlife films, books, and presentations for children that share my excitement and wonder for the natural world.  I don't want to try to scare people into protecting animals and the environment.  Instead, I want to create more material to share my fascination and respect for nature, help people fall in love with the things that get me excited, and encourage more people to care in the process. I recently teamed up with a filmmaker (Katie Garrett) and we've already started making some short videos that you can watch here: Amphibian & Reptile Conservation

I want to write some books too!

In addition to making films, I also want to start writing books for children. I don't see enough that share important stories about nature and conservation in a serious, but fun and engaging way. The first book I want to create is about the global amphibian extinction crisis, which I hope to have accompanied by a series of watercolor paintings to illustrate their amphibian adventure. I've been giving presentations to children about this issue, and I've been so impressed and inspired by how much the younger generations care about the world, but we MUST keep supporting them and not let their sense of wonder die! This is something I've become very passionate about.

Whenever I have the opportunity, I absolutely love speaking about frogs and wildlife conservation to children with National Geographic. Your support can help me connect with more schools that have no budget to invite scientists to travel to them and talk with their students.

And in the meantime, I'll be investing as much time as I can to support the Honduras Amphibian Rescue & Conservation Center, a frog hospital my team built to help empower local scientists and save frogs from extinction. Here's a video about our project featured by National Geographic:

Thank YOU for supporting my mission to help save animals from extinction. With your help, I'm very excited to connect more people with nature and devote additional time and resources to these efforts!
