Help me save baby Daku

Donation protected
This is my 7 month old baby Daku. He is the most special little boy. At the beginning of June 2020 we decided that it was time to get another kitty so our youngest cat at that time would have a little play mate. He was perfect, crazy active, had an amazing personality, amazing cuddler. As time went by I noticed that he wasn't putting on too much weight and he wasn't growing much either. He always had a good appetite and was always active so I just thought he was a slow grower. One day on early September my husband and I went out for the weekend and when we came back I noticed that his whole top dental gums were bright red. So I took him to see his vet to make sure it was nothing to worry about. I was thinking "oh he is still teething so maybe it's just from that". Well the news I got weren't great. The doctor told me that it looked like little Daku has something called stomatitis, it's a very rare condition in cats that is very painful, often debilitating, chronic condition resulting from severe inflammation of the mouth tissues. Normally when the condition gets bad what we have to do is extract all the teeth from the mouth and the kitty can usually live a very happy life. So I was ok with that. I would have a very happy healthy kitty that had no teeth. Well he kept getting worse not gaining weight not being active anymore, so I took him back to the vet on October 15, 2020 to do some bloodwork and test to see what could be happening. His gums weren't red he was eating fine so what was going on?  Well the next day October 16 we got the results from his bloodwork back and I don't think I've cride so much in my life. All his values were pointing to something called feline infectious peritonitis, FIP for short. Everytime I hear a kitty with FIP was a death sentence for the baby. I was broken, my baby boy was dying slowly and there was nothing I could do. That is until I found the most amazing fb group "fip warriors 3.0". This group is entirely about helping kitties with FIP. They were telling me that there is a cure, that FIP doesn't mean death anymore. But of course it is very expensive. The treatment consist of 1 injection once a day for a course of 84 days and then 84 of observation. Everyone in the group that are doing the treatment now or have done it already are super happy they were able to save their babies. So of course I wanted to do the same. After a lot of talking with my husband and trying to figure out how to get all the money for it we decided to go for it and figure it out as we go.

Each vial of the medication is $115. Each vial brings an amount of 5.2 ml. My baby with the weight he is on right now will need 0.8ml every day. After lots of math we calculated that for only the medication we will need at least $2000 ,because we also have to take into consideration that he will be gaining weight as he starts feeling better. And that is not counting the ultrasounds, x-rays, which that alone was $700 and then vitamins,  and vet visits that we had to do before making sure he was all good to start treatment and syringes and needles and meds that we will need during and after treatment.

So I am here today to ask for any help possible to get my baby better. Any other questions any of you may have just let me know. I will be posting about him on my FB and IG as he gets better.

Sincerely and grateful,
Mandy and Daku
