Hi, my name is Natalia, and I always leave food in my backyard because I know there are several stray cats that come to eat. This cat hadn’t come around before. He started showing up about a week ago, and when I first noticed him, he had some bald patches and what looked like an abscess. I tried to catch him, but he would run away. I was afraid that if I pushed too hard, he wouldn’t come back, and at least here I knew he was getting food.

The next day, he came back with an open wound on his tail. You could see the flesh. I believe he may have been bitten by another cat. After that injury, he started sleeping in my yard, which was unusual because he hadn’t done that before. That’s when I knew something was really wrong.

My sister was finally able to catch him, and we brought him to the veterinarian. They cleaned the wound and told us he needs stitches and antibiotics. For that, he has to be sedated, and all of this is included in the cost of the goal I’m setting here. The vet also explained that once they sedate him and suture the wound, they will be able to tell me his sex, since right now they don’t want to move his tail to avoid causing more pain, as he is likely in a lot of discomfort.

I’m asking for help because at this moment I don’t have the income to cover everything on my own, but I truly want to help him with all my heart. That’s why I brought him in and why I want him to be okay. He is a young cat, around one to two years old, and he deserves a chance to heal.

Empezó a aparecer hace aproximadamente una semana y, cuando lo vi por primera vez, tenía algunos pelones y lo que parecía ser un absceso. Intenté agarrarlo, pero salía corriendo. Me daba miedo que, si lo forzaba, no volviera, y al menos aquí sabía que se estaba alimentando.

Al día siguiente regresó con una herida abierta en la cola; se le veía la carne. Creo que pudo haber sido mordido por otro gato. Después de esa herida, empezó a dormir en mi patio, lo cual era raro porque antes no lo hacía. En ese momento supe que algo no estaba bien.

Mi hermana finalmente logró agarrarlo y lo llevamos al veterinario. Allí le limpiaron la herida y nos dijeron que necesitaba suturas y antibióticos. Para todo esto era necesario sedarlo, y todo está incluido en el costo de la meta que estoy estableciendo aquí. El veterinario también nos explicó que, una vez que lo sedan y suturen la herida, podrán decirnos su sexo, ya que en este momento no quieren moverle la cola para no causarle más dolor, pues probablemente está sufriendo bastante.

Estoy pidiendo ayuda porque en este momento no tengo los ingresos para cubrir todo por mi cuenta, pero de verdad quiero ayudarlo con todo mi corazón. Por eso lo traje y por eso quiero que esté bien. Es un gatito joven, de aproximadamente uno a dos años, y merece una oportunidad para sanar.
