I’m Thomas, and I’m raising funds personally to help save a critical 15-acre rainforest wildlife corridor in Meta, Colombia. I recently returned from the region and witnessed active clear-cutting on this land firsthand. The chainsaws are running now, and every day that passes means more trees are lost. What makes this parcel so important is that it forms a 2,600-foot vertical corridor connecting high-mountain cloud forest to the lowland rainforest basin. Because it spans so many elevations, it serves as a vital pathway for wildlife and supports extraordinary biodiversity. This is not just another patch of forest. It is an irreplaceable link in the landscape, and losing it would mean losing habitat that countless native species depend on.

I am not a large organization with grant funding or time to wait. I’m stepping in because the landowner is willing to sell, and this creates a rare and urgent chance to stop the deforestation before more damage is done. Donations will go toward the direct purchase of this 15-acre parcel, as well as the legal transfer costs in Colombia, including notary, deed transfer, and registry fees. Once the land is secured, I plan to pursue private conservation status or work with local land stewards to help protect it for the long term.
