Help me walk & play again! TPLO Surgery for Peanut

Donation protected
Hi, I'm Peanut Butter! But you can call me Peanut. I have lots of friends and I love making new ones. Some say that I am sweet and cuddly, while some say I am loud and spunky. I say I’m all of the above! I am a 9-year-old beagle-mix, and my Mom rescued me. Thanks, Mom!!! I am here because I need your help. My Mom will tell you the rest. Let's start at the beginning...

Sweet Peanut was found as a puppy with her littermates underneath a house in wintertime. A coworker of mine took the puppies in and began looking for homes. I was immediately interested since our childhood pet was a beagle, but I was 24 and about to graduate from college, and move. The last thing I needed was a puppy.

Once I saw her adorable face, I knew Peanut was the dog for me. It was love at first sight for us both. The kisses started, and they never stopped! As she grew, her playful and sometimes mischievous personality began to shine...so did her adorable and signature underbite! Peanut is the perfect fit for our family. She has been here through it all. Whether it was loss, the pandemic, or any other challenging time. Peanut was also there for all the good times, too, like when Gabe and I got married, and when we grew our furry family by adopting our two cats.

Peanut is an amazing companion and the best part of coming home each day. I never get tired of her excitedly greeting me at the door every day after work. It always amazes me that even at the age of 9, she is so high energy and playful, that was until a few weeks ago. When she was bouncing around being her playful self, we noticed she started to limp. After a few days of no improvement, we took her to the vet and learned she had ruptured her CCL (knee ligaments) entirely. The once peppy, zippy dog now struggles to get from her crate to her food dish while unable to put weight on her right back leg. She is still a happy girl, but her quality of life has diminished in the blink of an eye.

The best option to give her a healthy, happy life is TPLO surgery, where they would go in and restructure her knee so she can regain full mobility and have hardware to keep her joints strong. We know Peanut has many years left, and we want her to have the best quality of life. The estimate for the procedure is $4,500. We mean it when we say, truly, anything helps.

To show our appreciation, I would like to do a little something for anyone who donates. If you donate towards our goal, I will select a few people to receive a pet portrait of your very own fur baby, by yours truly!

If you have read up until this point, THANK YOU. It means so much that you have taken the time to read our story and learn about Peanut. In these difficult times, I understand if you are not able to donate. Please share this page with your friends, family, or anyone who has ever loved a pet. Thanks again for your attention; it means the world to us and to Peanut.

Sincerely,
Danielle , Gabe , Peanut
