My name is Josiane, I'm 33 years old, I'm Brazilian, I have two daughters here in the United States, one is one year, seven months old, and the other is eight months old. I want to tell you a about my story in this country. I came to this country looking for a man and a dream that only brought me pain and suffering. When I arrived in this country, I was detained for two months in immigration custody. When I left, I thought the man said he loved me and would take care of me, but he destroyed me, hurt me, abused me with his friends, and did everything he could to me. After the abuse I suffered, I discovered I was pregnant. He threw me out on the street, pregnant, because he didn't know what child he was expecting from him or from an abuser who raped me that night. After that, my life became a nightmare. I had no one in this country, just a baby waiting. I had a protection order and applied for a U visa, but this didn't help me with the suffering he caused me because of all the aggression. Every time I had to do things I didn't want to with him, I went to a domestic violence shelter, and at the hospital where I was going to consult, I met the father of my second daughter, who is eight months old. He said he wanted to help me take care of my daughter, but in truth, I didn't know what I was getting myself into. I got pregnant after had my s, so I left the shelter and went to live with my father, and at first everything was wonderful, but then my first daughter cried a lot. I didn't know why she cried so much when she heard that man's voice. Then I saw what she did to my baby. He covered her little one, and she didn't cry. He abused such a small baby. I had to leave with my daughter and I'm pregnant, without knowing who to ask for help. Since then, I've been living in the shelter, but I don't want to be here anymore. I want to go back to Brazil, but I have no way to go. I I've already obtained passports and visas, but I still need a place to live because we don't have a house. I'll need to rent a place, and I also need to provide food, diapers, and clothes for them until I can get the necessary documents to enroll them in daycare. We still need continued support. Thank you.
