For the past six months, we have been living a nightmare after hiring a moving company to handle the transport of our belongings across the country. What started as a seemingly routine process turned into an ordeal that left us feeling helpless, frustrated, and heartbroken. After paying the company in full, they completely disappeared, ignoring our calls and emails, and leaving us in the dark about the whereabouts of our belongings.
We had entrusted them with everything: furniture, clothing, and most importantly, irreplaceable sentimental items that held decades of memories. Every day that passed without an update felt like a heavy weight on our shoulders, especially as we came across more and more terrible reviews from others who had similar experiences with this company. It became painfully clear that we had put our trust in a dishonest, unprofessional business, and the fear of losing everything began to feel all too real.
Eventually, I filed a complaint with the National Consumer Complaint Database (NCCDB), and that seemed to get their attention. After months of silence, they finally reached out, confirming that our belongings were still in their possession. While the relief was overwhelming, the thought of what could have been lost during those six months lingered.
Now, to retrieve our things, I'll need to rent a truck and make the long journey from Los Angeles to Maryland to pick everything up myself. Though it's a daunting trip, I'm incredibly grateful that we'll finally be able to reclaim our belongings. The emotional toll this situation has taken is hard to put into words, but any help, whether through support or kind words, would mean the world to us as we take the final steps in closing this difficult chapter.
