Peace and Blessings everyone..My name is Maurice Jenkins and I am having a difficult time getting back on my feet..I am currently shelterless (homeless) and have been for the last eight (8) months. I have been sleeping ìn basements of apartment buildings, abandoned cars, parking structures, vacant churches and homeless shelters, which will no longer be in operations as of March 31,2024.
I am a sixty (60) years old man suffering with 3 chronic illnesses, 2 of them terminal. I was diagnosed with HIV in 1993, AIDS in 1998, Esophageal cancer in 2022, and a chronic bacteria infection of the lungs this month March 2024. Because of my living situation it is difficult for me to take medication properly nor get the necessary sleep and nutrition that my body desires.
I am not a bum...I am just in the valley and need help to reach my peak...I am a former educator, have worked in the judicial system as a First Time Juvenile Offenders "Tracker", Community Avocate, and various other vocations. Currently I am planning on returning to return to school and obtain my PhD in Africology. But there are many barriers that are blocking my paths.
Money raised will help me secure housing and a reliable vehicle so I can keep my medical appointments. I will be able to afford 1st and last month's rent, security deposit and a used stove and refrigerator. I am eternally grateful for your support.
