My two young grand children need to be rescued from their situation. The children were under the custody of there mother until one night her and her boy friend got so drunk they both had to be transported to the hospital by ambulance. Before the ambulance arrived the grand daughter ran next door to call the ambulance because they couldn't wake either one of the adults. While she was calling the ambulance, the eight year old grandson initiated CPR on his mother.  Because no responsible adult could care for the children Child Protective Services (CPS) placed the children into protective care. After the CPS process was complete both children were removed from the custody of their mother and placed under the care of the biological father of the grandson.  Fast forward 2 years and the children are once again under the care of CPS because the biological father of the grandson, guardian to the granddaughter has been accused of sexually assaulting and molesting the 15 year old granddaughter.  My wife and I are doing everything we can to obtain legal custody and adoption of our grand children but the costs are way out of our reach.  The cheapest lawyer wants $250.00 paid in advance before he'll even hear what we have to say. Then stated that his normal fee would range from $5000.00 - $10,000.00 all paid in advance. Then the cost of moving the children from Texas to California.

The cost for moving them is estimated to be 3,500.00 in fuel, hotel, and renting a trailer to relocate their belongs from their current location in Texas to our residence in California.  Drive time will total close to 28 hours one way, loading the belongings and returning to the Fresno, CA area.

As of right now it will cost an estimated 13,500.00 total for legal fees, court cost, fuel fees, trailer rental fees, hotel fees.  These costs don't include any potential airline cost should we have to fly out for a unexpected court appearance.

CPS is currently conducting there investigation of the situation and preforming all the necessary back ground checks on my wife and I so that they can legally do their part and the lawyer can do his part. But he won't even start anything until he is paid in advance. 

The sooner we can get the funds together the better. CPS estimates they can get through their part within 30-45 days.  The lawyer won't say anything until funds are in hand.

We wouldn't ask for help but because I developed a form of muscular dystrophy fifteen years ago our life savings has been depleted in medical care cost.
 
Please help us rescue our grand children from this terrible situation and get them into a stable, loving, caring home with stable family members and help us end the abuse that these children have been enduring from adults that were suppose to be loving and caring for them.
