Help Me Represent Team Scotland in Austria!

Hi everyone!

I'm helping to raise funds for an incredible group of Scottish women heading to compete at an International Weightlifting Competition in Wels, Austria this August — and I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been selected as part of this team!

Team Scotland will be proudly represented by 15 female lifters and 3 coaches, all self-funded and passionate about the sport. This is a women-only international event, with athletes ranging in age from 20 to 50, and it’s not only an amazing opportunity to compete at a high level, but also to inspire more women and girls to get involved in the sport of weightlifting or other strength based sports.

Sadly, there’s no external funding to support our travel, competition fees, or logistics. Any donations or fundraising will help cover the cost of entry fees, kit, travel, accommodation and any other associated costs.

I’m organising a couple of fun events to raise money — and I’d love your help!

‍♀️☕ Event 1: The 5K Bun Run & Social

A relaxed 5K run (or walk!) followed by coffee and cake with good company.

• A small donation will be asked from participants — enough to cover the treats and help raise funds for Team Scotland.

• Everyone welcome — runners, joggers, walkers, cake lovers.

️‍♀️ Event 2: Intro to Olympic Weightlifting Workshop

A hands-on weightlifting session for up to 8 people who want to:

• Learn the basics of Olympic lifts

• Improve their technique

• Support a great cause while getting stronger!

All proceeds from both events will go directly toward supporting our amazing team of Scottish women heading to Austria.
