Help me compete at the Womens Weightlifting Grand Prix!

I'm Sara, and I've been selected to compete for Scotland at the upcoming International Womens' Weightlifting Grand Prix in Wels, Austria from the 21st to the 24th of August 2025. I've been an olympic weightlifter for almost four years, and I've been competing for just over three years - most recently winning both the Scottish Masters Championship and the Broxburn Strength & Fitness Open in my weight category.
Women's Weightlifting was only introduced to the Olympics in the year 2000, despite men's weightlifting being present as far back as the 1800s.
This is an incredible opportunity to show women and girls everywhere that its good to be strong, and that they can do anything they set their minds to. I'd love to set an example for the girls I coach, and to show them that representing their country in the sport of weightlifting is not out of reach.
To do this, I need your support. This competition is entirely self-funded. Any monies raised will go towards:
Hotels
Flights
Transport to/from airports
Team Scotland singlet and kit
Competition entry fees
Costs associated with coaching others
Any additional monies raised will be used to support my training in the lead up to the competition (programming, equipment etc) and to help the other amazing women in our squad to cover their costs.
This is the first time Scotland has ever sent a team to the Women's Grand Prix, and I'm so honoured to have been selected to be part of it.
Thank you so much for your support, I can't wait to represent Scotland at my first ever international competition!
