Hello everyone!

My name is Danielo Parkinson, and I am fundraising to help towards my expenses/fees to participate in this year's World Lacrosse Championship that is being held in San Diego, California. I am currently a senior Cybersecurity major with a 3.8 GPA, playing division 1 lacrosse at St. Johns University. I have been blessed to be one of the few athletes invited to participate in this event and represent my country (Jamaica) in an international competition.

To provide a bit of backstory, I was originally born in Lucea, Jamaica. I was born the last and youngest of four children (three boys and one girl). I migrated to the United States when I was five years old with my mom and two older brothers for a chance at a better life and the various opportunities that the United States has to offer. Throughout my years in the United States, I have been fortunate to develop a love for the sport of lacrosse. Through my dedication and hard work, I have been fortunate to introduce myself and my family to various opportunities over the years, such as this, that I don't think I would have had without lacrosse.

For athletes like me, the opportunity to represent your country is always the dream and the ultimate goal. Playing for and representing my country has been my goal since watching the 2018 world lacrosse championship in Isreal, where Jamaica made its first international appearance; I have always wanted to be a part of the team and wear the proud colors of Jamaica: Black, Green, and Gold. With this potentially once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in front of me, I want to take full advantage of it. I don't want my financial burdens to be the reason I cannot accomplish my dream and be a part of history for my country and my family.
