Hi! My name is Gemma Tutton, and I’ve been selected to represent Great Britain at the FISU World University Games 2025 in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany this July!
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete against the best student-athletes in the world, and I couldn’t be more excited or proud to have the chance to wear the GB vest.
About Me
I’ve been pole vaulting since I was 11 years old, and from the very beginning, my dream has always been to represent my country on the international stage. Now, that dream is becoming a reality. My ultimate goal is to become a professional athlete, travelling the world and competing at the highest level – and the World University Games would be a huge stepping stone toward that future.
Why I Need Your Help
Unfortunately, this opportunity is unfunded. Neither British Athletics nor British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) are covering the costs, which means every athlete has to pay their own way to compete.
As a 20-year-old student balancing full-time training and studies, this is a heavy financial burden to carry alone — which is why I’m asking for your support to help me get to Germany and chase this dream.
What Your Support Will Help Cover:
Participation Fee – £2,150
Flights – £300–£600
Pole Transportation & Travel Costs – £250+
Additional Competition Travel Costs
Every single donation will go directly towards helping me get to the Games and continue pursuing my athletic career.
How You Can Help
Whether it’s through a small donation or simply sharing this page with others, any support means the world to me. This isn’t just about one competition — it’s about keeping a dream alive, one I’ve been working toward for nearly a decade.
Thank you so much for reading, for believing in me, and for helping me make it to Rhine-Ruhr 2025.
Thank you,
Gemma
