My name is Sasha and as many of you know me, I have devoted my professional career to the martial way.
Through many trials and overcoming paralyzation between the age of 24 to 27, I never thought id be able to get to this place. I missed so many chances because of my crohns and back injury. However, in my heart, I always knew I could get to this level but the path seemed dark and almost lost at some points.
However, here we are, 29 years of training, at the apex of where I can go with my skills and preparation in Kyokushin Karate, the prestigious Open weight karate world tournament is in my grasp. Ive been dreaming of this moment since i was a child.
It happens once every 4 years. This year, after winning the canadian open tournament, I am one of the 2 candidates that was chosen to represent Canada at this tournament.
I am elated, excited and focused. Not just to participate, but I wish to win it all and bring it back to Canada. However, I need your help.
As many of you know I run a dojo full time but devoting time to train and teach is hard. What was helping me stay afloat financially was my private 1on1 classes and teaching. However with training 4 to 5 hours a day on top of teaching regular classes, finding time to teach 1on1 sessions to pay bills while also finding time for resting is proving impossible.
The funds used from this gofundme is to help me focus more on this last month of training and not worry about making rent or paying for food. I need time to rest and I need to focus more on myself outside of teaching classes.
This tournament, as famous as it is, does not allow sponsorships of any kind. The uniform must be free of all logo's outside of the organization logo. So with opportunity to get sponsors not possible, going to Japan is a payment I myself need to make out of my own pocket.
Your donations will allow me to:
- pay for my hotel
- pay my flight
- help pay my instructors who are covering my classes while away competing
- help pay my rent for the month of September as Im reducing my hours of work
- helps me pay for food for the month
I did not reach this level alone, and i cannot make it to the world tournament to compete at my best without your help either. Any and all support of any kind will help.
I will do my best to bring the championship trophy home and represent canada with pride. Osu!
Thank you all for your continued support and love. I am here and have made it here because of all of you.
