My name is Victoria Vergos and I am proud to be a Team Canada amateur boxing athlete. This April and May 2026, I will be representing Canada at a prestigious International Tournament in Belgrade, Serbia.

From May 12 to May 18, 2026, I will compete against some of the top international boxers in the world. This tournament is an important step in my athletic journey and a major opportunity to gain international experience while proudly wearing the maple leaf on the world stage.

Before heading to Serbia, I will attend a high-performance training camp in Montreal, Quebec for one week where I will prepare alongside other elite Canadian athletes to ensure I am competition-ready.

I also recently received notification that my National Sport Organization has identified me as a potential Team Canada member for the 2026 Commonwealth Games, taking place in Glasgow Scotland in late July.

Representing Canada is both an honor and a responsibility. Competing internationally allows me to:

-Gain world-class experience against elite athletes

-Improve my national and international ranking

-Continue progressing toward future international championships

Grow not only as an athlete, but as a disciplined and dedicated individual

This opportunity brings me one step closer to my long-term goals in the sport.

The Financial Reality

While I am proud to represent Canada, amateur athletes often cover many of their own expenses. Funds raised will help cover:

-Flights to and from Belgrade

-Accommodation and meals

-Training camp expenses in Montreal

-Equipment and travel gear
