On February 27, 2026, in the middle of the night, my company HVAC van was broken into at my residence. During the break-in, all of my personal tools I’ve spent the last 6 years working hard to build up were stolen. These weren’t just tools. They’re what I relied on every single day to do my job and support my family. Losing them has put me in a really difficult position, preventing me from working and earning income. A police report was filed, and the case is currently being investigated as a criminal robbery. Some fingerprints were recovered at the scene, so I’m hoping something comes from that but was told it will take multiple months. But unfortunately, that doesn’t replace what was taken.

Within this past month, I’ve tried every option available to recover my losses. My employer is not willing to help replace my tools and does not have insurance coverage for employee belongings. My renters insurance also denied my claim because the items were considered work-related equipment and were stolen from a company vehicle. I’m now left starting over from scratch.
