Hi, my name is Jonathan. I’m a 21-year-old university student, and photography has always been one of my biggest passions.

Recently, I decided to sell my camera through Facebook Marketplace. I was hoping to use part of the money to cover some of my basic living expenses while putting the rest aside so I could eventually save up for an even better camera and continue growing as a photographer.

When I met with the supposed buyers, they shoved me and forcefully yanked the camera out of my hands. I stumbled and tried to chase after them, but I was unable to catch them. I was left with scratches and bruises across my body.

I have already filed a police report and provided the police with all the information I have. Unfortunately, the police are not a collection agency, and there is no guarantee that my camera will be recovered or that I will be compensated for what was stolen. At this point, there is very little else I can personally do to get it back.

While my physical injuries will heal, losing my camera has been especially difficult. Photography is much more than a casual hobby for me. It has been an important creative outlet and something I have dedicated a great deal of time to. Before this incident, I regularly took photos and shared my work through my photography account.

As a university student who was already struggling to make ends meet, I do not have enough money to replace the camera on my own. I am raising funds to help purchase replacement photography gear so I can return to taking photos and continue pursuing something that means so much to me.
