Hi, I’m Katie, and I run Geet Canny Music, a DIY music platform where I interview up-and-coming bands and share their stories.

I want to start by saying: I don’t usually do this sort of thing. I’ve always funded everything myself; from travel, to equipment needed for editing, to the microphones I’ve been using. I do this purely out of love for music and for giving smaller bands a platform.

But after years of use, my mics are completely dead. They don’t even switch on anymore, and it’s impossible to keep recording interviews without them. I hate asking, but I can’t afford to replace them on my own right now.
