Darth Vader is crushing my MacBook Pro 2008.
Well, actually no he's not. As of this year, I have age to blame for my poor beloved MacBook's inability to keep up with my business.
My MacBook was a very generous gift from a friend a few years back to help me with my online yarn business Hilori's Magical Yarnorium. It made it possible to use my Shopify account, do my accounting online, and keep everything updated and current.
Earlier this summer, my MacBook would no longer update because operating systems went above and beyond the capabilities of it's processor. This meant that my Safari and Chrome and Firefox and a number of other browsers would not work on it anymore. This started with not being able to use my Shopify and ended with not even being able to log into Ravelry.
There were limitations on this MacBook from the start, and I'm so grateful to have had it this long, but I'm afraid I need to retire it.
I am a small business and I have not the extra funds to replace my computer. It's hard to raise the funds to buy a new MacBook when I can't access my sales platform to update it. Kind of a conundrum.
I want to be clear that I'm not interested in buying brand new. I'm looking at refurbished 'Books from 2017. I just need to be able to work and I feel like my hands are tied. The sooner I can reach my goal the sooner I can get the ball rolling again on my website.
If you can find it in your heart to help a small business grow, please donate a few bucks and pass it on to your friends.
Any overages will be donated to Siloam Mission and Winnipeg Harvest.
Thanks, I really appreciate your help and may the force be with you.
