Help me remove the excess skin from weight loss!
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Josh, and over the past 2 years, I have lost 250lbs.
In January 2020, I looked at myself in the mirror and hated who I saw staring back at me. On February 6, 2020, I had a consultation with a surgeon and was asked to step on a scale...and saw I weighed 489lbs. In that moment, I decided I needed to get gastric bypass surgery.
I am currently 235lbs and continue to live a healthy lifestyle, but I still face challenges. I have a large amount of excess skin around my torso and arms. I have spoken to a plastic surgeon and doctors who have informed me surgery is the only option. Unfortunately, insurance companies do not consider skin removal surgery a medical necessity and will not cover costs. I have never been happier with my lifestyle; the excess skin still does not allow me to live the life I've always hoped to live.
I was quoted $15,000 for the total cost of the surgery and have set a goal of $10,000 to help get me most of the way there. Any help would be greatly appreciated and a step toward achieving my goal of a healthy, happy life. Thank you!
