Hello! My name is Garrina. I am 38 years old. In 2019, I was diagnosed with stage 3 inflammatory breast cancer. Within three months of my diagnosis , I had to start chemotherapy. Completing 2 rounds of chemotherapy, that’s 17 treatments. a month later I underwent a bilateral mastectomy breast surgery, then a month later I had to go through 31 radiation treatments that I completed January 27th 2020. It was a very long, hard, and mentally draining road. On top of dealing with all this. I had a teenage daughter that is my only child, who had to deal with the mental stress of all her mother had to endure. Because of all the stress she failed a few classes her tenth grade year. I’m not one to beg or ask for help, but I’ve been suggested by so many people to tell my story to get help. My medical bills left me with a debt that I can not pay on my own. I am a single mother, working is not enough extra money to help pay off the bills. I have setup payment arrangements with the hospital to pay $100 a month. I’ve paid off 12 of the bills just by paying the monthly payment that was started in 2020. I paid my co payments at each doctors appointment. So they wouldn’t accumulate. The medical bills are from chemotherapy treatments, surgery, and radiation, tests and scans. It seems I can’t pay them off fast enough. So I’m not just sitting back letting them not get taking care of. As of today, I have been getting a hormone injection called zoladex every month since September of 2019. I was also informed after doing the genetics test that I carry the BRAC2 gene. So I am prone to getting other cancers that I’m believing I will NOT. But today I had surgery to remove my ovaries and Fallopian tubes as preventative measure against me getting Ovarian cancer. I off work for a few weeks which puts me out of commission from doing work for my business Remixedbyg, which is the extra funds I used to pay of my medical bills. On top of all this. My daughter is graduating in June, and will be attending college at Central State University. I’m so proud of her fighting back to the top. She is her mother’s child. I ask that you please donate anything you could to help.
