Change a Child's Life Forever!
Last year, with generous help from many of you who took part of team "Educate Our Children", we kicked-off a proof of concept (POC) for running an online school to make quality education available to disadvantaged kids in Egypt.
Join us in opening a world of unlimited opportunities for those children. Choose to sponsor a child education this year for $200 or make a contribution, your support will go a long way. 100% of the money will go directly towards teachers pay and technology infrastructure:
$200 will pay for a tablet for one family with 2 or 3 students
$30 will pay for Internet access for the whole school year for one family
$200 will pay one teacher for the whole school year
The proof of concept was successful and went beyond expectations (ref details below). Kids, parents, and teachers were highly engaged and students' learning improved. Here is what some of them said excitedly:
"I never knew na7w (Arabic grammar) could be so easy!" Ahmed, 6th grade.
"I finally understand math!" Asmaa, 5th grade.
A key objective for this program is to be self-sustaining, and able to replicate to other countries, so I am asking for your help in taking this work to the next level. Our goal this year is to reach a larger number of students in Egypt, go beyond volunteering, and evolve our solution.
The children we are serving are in schools where no real learning is possible there. Classrooms are crowded, teachers are often absent, and parents have no choice but to pay for private tutoring lest their kids should fail the tests and get picked on in class by the teacher.
You can help children overcome these issues by supporting our program. In our program, teachers believe in each and every student, draw the best out of them, and challenge them to explore and grow.
Please share this with your friends or anyone you think might be interested.
Thank you!

Proof of Concept Details
A proof of concept was implemented in Semester 2, 2017 and Semester 2, 2018. Eighteen students from 9 families in grades 4 to 9 in Cairo and Alexandria participated in the project. Thirteen teachers in the US and Egypt volunteered to teach those students online in the subjects of Math, Arabic, Science, and English. A tablet and Internet access were provided to each family free of charge.
Through surveys to parents, students, and teachers, and informal feedback, we learned that students’ mastery of the subject improved as a result of the lessons and teachers reported that students were highly engaged and excited to learn.
Parents also reported that their children were highly engaged and students emphasized that they are finally able to understand difficult concepts.
We also discovered that learning is contagious; with parents inquiring how they too can learn English online and accessed the Internet to lookup health-related information.
