Help Me Regain My Mobility: Support for Electric Wheelchair
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Andie aka Di (they/she) and I’m a disabled low-income nonbinary lesbian living in so called “Vancouver.” I am reaching out to you for support as I navigate the physical and mental health challenges of living with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) and Fibromyalgia. These chronic illnesses have severely impacted my life, causing constant excruciating muscle/joint pain, extreme fatigue, mobility and balance issues, cognitive dysfunction, mental health problems and an endless list of symptoms that control my daily functioning. Over time, these conditions have taken away my ability to move freely and engage in simple tasks without triggering flare-ups or long periods of recovery. I’m unable to walk or stand for extended periods without becoming exhausted and experiencing intense pain, making even basic daily activities overwhelming.
With consideration and advice from my healthcare team, it’s clear that an electric wheelchair is my best option for me to regain some independence and improve my quality of life/mental health. This wheelchair will allow me to go out for essential errands, attend appointments, and spend more time with family and friends, without risking further exhaustion or flare-ups. It will give me the ability to move around and navigate the world outside when I am physically unable to.
The cost of an electric wheelchair is something I simply cannot afford on my own, and that’s why I’m reaching out for your support. Any donation, no matter the size, would be deeply appreciated and bring me one step closer to the independence I so desperately need. Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, and support. Every contribution means the absolute world to me.
With gratitude, Di Reynolds (they/she)
