Hi everyone,
I'm reaching out for help to get a lightweight active wheelchair that will give me some independence. I have hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS), which causes excessive pain and frequent joint dislocations when I walk. Because of this, I can’t go out alone or travel far without severe discomfort and risk of injury.
The NHS will only fund a basic wheelchair, but it's too big and unsuitable for solo travel or longer distances. To move around safely and independently, I need a lightweight active wheelchair, which costs around £1,600.
More than just mobility, this chair would help me spend more quality time with my daughter, Katie, doing fun things together again. Since my health declined, I haven’t been able to do as much with her as I used to, and that has been incredibly difficult. This wheelchair would give me the freedom to be more present in her life, making memories together without the constant worry of pain and dislocations.
Any amount you can spare, big or small, would mean the world. If you can't donate, sharing this fundraiser would also be a huge help.
Thank you so much for your support!
