As many of you know, I have been suffering from chronic TMJ pain for years. It has been a daily battle, but at the beginning of this year, I finally started the medical journey to fix it permanently.

The reality is that the discs in my jaw joints have completely disintegrated over the years. In October and November, I underwent the first phase of surgeries to repair the damage on both sides. I have fought hard to get to this point, but I am now facing a critical deadline and a financial roadblock I cannot overcome alone.

The Urgency To regain function, I need to have an arthroplasty (joint reconstruction) where custom prosthetic discs are surgically implanted into my jaw.

This is not just about stopping the pain—it is about keeping my ability to function. ◻️Without the cushioning of these prosthetic discs, my jaw bones will inevitably fuse together.◻️ If this happens, it will become impossible for me to perform basic daily tasks like chewing food or even talking.

The Financial Barrier Unfortunately, my medical insurance does not cover TMJ repair or prosthetics—they consider it an exclusion. The total cost for the prosthetic discs and the surgery is $19,300.

Crucially, the surgeon cannot order the custom discs or schedule this vital step until $15,000 is paid upfront.

I have exhausted my resources getting through the first phase of surgeries this fall. I am reaching out to my community to help me bridge this gap so I can prevent my jaw from permanently locking.
