Hi there.. My name is Katrina and I’ve created this account because my apartment caught on fire. I got a phone call from my friend, she lives in my building, and she told me my apartment was on fire! My first response was, “Ariyas in there!” While I’m sprinting out of basketball practice to my car, I get another phone call from the Sheriffs Dept. “Is this Katrina Dowdy?!” At this moment, I KNEW for sure it was my apartment. I shared my information with him & immediately asked him about Ariya. He repeatedly reassured me that she was safe, and sitting in the backseat of his car. Once I arrived to my apartment, all I saw was fire trucks & police cars. After speaking with the Fire Lt, I saw my brother walking up. Thank GOD for him! He had already Ariya warm & safe in his truck. IM BLESSED to say that I am safe AND so is Ari! However, my life was in that apartment! I was living there for 7 years and had just renewed my lease for the 8th year. My home is gone now and so are all of my belongings. If you know me, then you know how detrimental this is for me right now. If you don’t know me, just imagine leaving for work in the morning and coming home to nothing. I’m at a lost for words right now and I appreciate ANYTHING you’re able to spare!
