For over a year, I’ve been fighting a sickness that completely stole my life. In the last month, it escalated into a nightmare. I couldn't even stand in the shower without my heart hitting SVT spikes of 180+ bpm and nearly blacking out (syncope).

This week, things hit a breaking point. I have been hospitalized for awhile and have had numerous testing done only to come back as fine. Though recently a cardiologist figured out one of the issues and I was rushed into emergency hospitalization where specialists finally found the culprit: May-Thurner Syndrome. A major vein in my pelvis was "kinked" shut, starving my heart of blood and sending my body into a constant state of emergency.

I just underwent urgent surgery to place two permanent stents to reopen my circulation. While the "hardware" is fixed, I am still in the thick of it:

Doctors are monitoring my heart and blood pressure 24/7 as my system "re-wires" itself.

They are still investigating further autonomic dysfunctions and damage. They will be running other tests to rule out things like sleep apnea as well.

I also have a long road of PT ahead to get back on my feet and move safely again.
