We are a family of five—my wife, our three children, and myself—facing an unimaginable crisis. Since last spring, we have endured two separate house fires that have left our lives shattered.
The first fire started on our balcony. Thankfully, there was no interior damage, but it still left us with over $10,000 in debt, including a $5,000 insurance deductible we had to cover ourselves and still owe to the property management Corp. We poured everything we had into restoring and improving our home—completing a full renovation:
Brand-new kitchen and two updated bathrooms
New flooring, ceilings, lighting, drywall, and paint throughout the house
A new staircase and decorative walls
Just as we began to feel stable again, another fire struck—this time in our kitchen—on April 23, 2025. The flames were contained, but smoke and residue spread throughout the house, damaging nearly all of our belongings: clothing, furniture, and essential supplies.
We are now displaced, heartbroken, and overwhelmed.
Our insurance provider is still conducting their investigation—a process that could take months—and we are left with nowhere to call home in the meantime.
This situation has been traumatic for our children and emotionally devastating for my wife. The stress, instability, and fear have deeply impacted our mental health and well-being. We are doing our best to stay hopeful, but we truly need help.
We’re asking for your support to cover:
Emergency housing
Replacement of essential items (clothes, school supplies, furniture)
Food and basic living expenses while we wait for insurance
Mental health support and therapy for our kids
Every donation, no matter how small, makes a difference. If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing our story. Your support means the world to us.
Thank you for helping us find hope again.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Said Ali
