Two weeks ago, on March 19th, I became the victim of a phone scam that resulted in hundreds of dollars being stolen from my bank account. I immediately reported the incident and filed a claim with my bank. After their investigation, they were only able to recover a small portion of the stolen funds, leaving my account with a negative balance. This has been a stressful and overwhelming experience, especially as I had just filed for retirement and was looking forward to receiving my first Social Security check on April 15th.

The negative balance in my account now threatens my ability to keep my bank account open, which is essential for receiving my Social Security checks and managing all of my important banking needs.
