I lost my best friend last weekend.
Two weeks ago, my beloved cat Kubo suddenly became ill and stopped eating. He was diagnosed with hepatic lipidosis — a serious liver condition. The underlying cause of his loss of appetite was unclear, which made his case even more complicated. He needed extended care in the hospital.
It's a devastating feeling — not being able to save your pet, not for lack of love or effort, but because of money. After seeing four different vets, urgent cares, and ICU facilities, I could see my little one was tired. I made the heartbreaking decision to bring him home so he could pass peacefully and comfortably.
I did everything I could. And while my heart is heavy, I’m deeply grateful for the time I had with him. Kubo was a truly special cat — adventurous, friendly, and full of personality. He charmed everyone he met — strangers, the mailman, you name it.
It’s incredibly hard for me to ask for help. I wish I could carry this alone, but this loss has come at a really difficult financial time, and I’m just trying to recover and move forward. Any support you can give — no matter the amount — means so much to me.
Thank you for reading. ❤️
