I have lived with two major chronic autoimmune diseases for nearly my entire life, and recently, an unfortunate diagnosis made my situation much worse. Last year was one of the hardest I’ve ever faced: I was extremely ill, suffering through Covid-19 that turned into pneumonia, nearly died from a measles infection, endured two serious Crohn's flare-ups, and faced a new diagnosis that has changed everything. On top of all this, I lost my job after someone I trusted failed to submit important documentation for me, leaving me without health insurance and behind on every bill.

When I was fired a month ago, I had almost nothing left in my checking account. My credit was maxed out, and I had already drained my 401k. Since then, things have only gotten worse. I have almost no food left, and I’m facing eviction, losing my utilities, and the possibility of losing my storage unit—which holds my mother’s ashes and other irreplaceable items. Despite all this, I’m holding onto hope. I’ve been writing a book that I believe has real promise, and a Hollywood producer has reached out about a short story I wrote. A friend has also offered me the chance to resell the contents of his storage unit if I can cover his fees, which could help me get back on my feet. I’m also an artist and would love to offer paintings or sculptures to those who are able to help.

The funds I raise here would allow me to access both storage units, buy groceries, and keep my Internet connection active so I can stay connected and continue working on my writing and art.
