In September, my life changed dramatically. I went from walking normally to suddenly needing a wheelchair and walker just to get through daily life. At first, I was misdiagnosed with shingles, and it took months of doctor appointments and uncertainty before I finally learned the real cause: Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare autoimmune disease. This diagnosis was overwhelming, but it also brought hope—my doctors believe that IV infusions can help me recover and get back to the life I love.
Unfortunately, while my insurance covers most of the treatment, I am still responsible for a portion of the cost out of pocket. Being out of work for so long has made this expense impossible for me to cover on my own. I want nothing more than to get better, return to work, and spend quality time with my loved ones. Every bit of support brings me closer to regaining my independence and enjoying life again.
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read my story or offer support. I’m emotional and honestly embarrassed to be in this position—I’ve worked all my life and truly enjoy it. Your kindness and generosity mean more to me than words can express. Anything helps, and I am deeply grateful for your help on my journey to recovery.
