On January 24th, 2025, my life changed when I was diagnosed with stage 3c colorectal cancer. Since then, I have faced a long and difficult journey—twelve sessions of chemotherapy, completed in July, followed by twenty-two sessions of radiation therapy and chemotherapy pills, which I finished in September. In November, I underwent a major surgery called an abdominoperineal resection (APR), which removed my anus, rectum, and lower colon, and resulted in a permanent colostomy bag that I will need for the rest of my life.
Throughout this battle, I have done everything I can to keep up with the mounting medical expenses. I have insurance, but I pay for it out of pocket, along with deductibles, treatments, medications, and the supplies I need for my colostomy. I have sold most of my assets to cover these costs, but the bills continue to add up. As I recover from surgery, I am grateful for the nurses who visit me at home, but the financial strain is overwhelming.
I have always been someone who never asks for help, but this experience has changed me. I am reaching out now because I need support to pay my outstanding medical bills and focus on healing. Anything helps, including prayers, and I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart for any help you can give. Your kindness will make a real difference in my fight against this disease.
