My car was stolen 6 days ago while I slept and has not been found. It is deemed a total loss. I purchased it February 20th this year after I was involved in a head-on collision where someone ran the red light and hit me while I was making a left turn. That was a little over 6 weeks ago. I used a majority of my savings and took out a loan that I am still paying off for a vehicle I don’t have. The items in the car were below my deductible so I receive no money for that loss. My insurance does not cover a rental, that is out of pocket. And then today, I found out that insurance is only reimbursing 60% of what I paid 6 weeks ago for the stolen vehicle. Subtract the loan, the items lost, and the rental, I have no money for another vehicle.

I will be looking for another vehicle, replacing the items stolen, using a rental to get around, and purchasing anti-theft items to avoid this again. My apartment does not have parking and my lease is up in July, so I will also be moving to avoid this again, and will have moving costs in a couple months. People keep asking me how they can help and the truly only way I need help is financially. I’ve been living as a starving artist in Los Angeles for over 11 years and have never wanted to do this but - I need help. I am aware having a vehicle is a privilege and there are many people out there less fortunate than I am. I am only asking for whatever small amount you can part with to help this giant hole I have found myself in.
