Description: On February 6th, while staying at Extended Stay America in Indianapolis, I was woken up at 4 a.m. by a couple fighting in the room above me. Minutes later, the fire alarm went off, and I quickly left my room for safety. The alarm blared for about an hour, and then water started leaking from the hallway ceiling, then into my room. The sprinklers kept running, and soon my entire room was flooded. All my belongings—my hair clippers, PS5, laptop, music equipment, microphone, clothes, work bag, and tools—were soaked and damaged.
After the water was finally turned off, no one from the hotel checked on me or the other guests to see if we were okay or if anything was damaged. I spoke with the on-site manager, who initially said they would help replace my damaged items, but after several attempts to follow up, I was told they would not help and refused to provide insurance information. Now, I’m left without my essentials and struggling to recover.
I’m currently in school for music production, and the equipment I lost was crucial for my education and future career. The funds from this fundraiser will help me replace what I lost and cover some housing costs while I get back on my feet. This experience has been mentally exhausting, but I’m hopeful that with your support, I can move forward. Any help would mean the world to me, and your kindness will never be forgotten.
