Hi, my name is Gabriela and I never thought I’d ever be in a position to make a gofundme ever but…

I’m raising funds to help me recover after being seriously injured in a bike accident on my way to work on August 22nd at 10/11am.

I was in 2 hospitals spanned for two days and suffered a broken right wrist, a fractured toe, and a deep chin laceration. I’m currently in a cast and a walking boot. Thankfully, I recently learned that I will no longer need hand surgery, which I’m extremely ecstatic and relieved about. I still have followup appointments and a long recovery ahead of me, and I’m not sure when I’ll be able to return to my normal routine.

Because I rely heavily on my hands and mobility for work and daily life, this accident has left me facing medical appointments, prescriptions, transportation costs, rehabilitation, and lost income while I recover. I’m also financially responsible for my three beautiful cats, which adds to the stress of being unable to work normally.

I was injured in another bike accident last year and broke my back, so this has been especially difficult physically and emotionally. I’ve been dealing with PTSD and anxiety, and this new accident has made recovery even more challenging especially since I was still recovering from that one and just recently started working again.

I’m asking for help covering my immediate expenses while I heal, including medical care, transportation, food, bills, cat expenses, and lost wages. Any amount would make a difference, and sharing this fundraiser would also mean so much to me.

Music has also been a huge source of comfort for me during this time. Malcolm Todd is my favourite artist, and his music helped comfort me almost immediately after I left the hospital. I’ve been listening to his music during my bike rides since I was cleared to ride after my previous accident, and it has helped me cope with PTSD and anxiety. I’m hoping to get his attention because it would mean so much to me if he could sign my cast when he comes to play in Toronto last September.
