Help Me Recover After a Car Break-In
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Heidi, and I’m a sophomore at UW studying statistics.
Last week, my friend and I went for a short walk at Washington Park Arboretum. We parked in one of the lots along Lake Washington Blvd and were only gone for about 30 minutes (from 6:00 to 6:30 pm). When we came back, we found her car window smashed and my bag had been stolen.
Inside were my laptop, wallet, AirPods, and other essentials. The thieves also tried to use my debit card to make a $600 purchase at Safeway. I’ve filed a police report, but unfortunately, most of the items are unlikely to be recovered.
Right now, I’m taking 18 credits over the summer and borrowing a temporary laptop from UW. I'm working on my own to cover as much of the lost expenses as possible, but replacing everything — especially the laptop — is a major financial setback. I’m hoping to raise $1,500 to help with the cost of a new laptop and some of the other stolen items.
If you’re able to donate, I would be incredibly grateful. Genuinely, any amount helps. And if you’re not in a place to give, just sharing the link means so much.
Thank you so much for your support.
