I've been writing songs for nearly my entire life. When my young husband, Matt, was diagnosed unexpectedly with advanced heart disease in 2022, I poured my heart out in music. As his disease progressed and then he passed away in August of 2023, one of my songs became a personal anthem. Born out of pain and sorrow yet grappling with God for help, "Shores" is a singable anthem that conveys a message of raw, deep trust and hope in the middle of the unthinkable.
In January of 2026, I was invited to lead worship for a Widow Goals retreat. Widow Goals is a non-profit that helps widows not only survive but thrive. That weekend, I introduced those 60 widows to my "Shores" song, and it was a powerful and healing experience. Many of them asked me to record this song professionally and release it for the whole world to hear. God has opened many doors and I've gotten the green light - this summer I'll be recording my song in Nashville, TN. And cool story with that - I'll get to record with a friend from my high school days, Matt Griffith. He is a very talented musician and producer, and I very much admire his work. I am really excited to head to Nashville in June for my first professional recording experience.
The funds raised will help cover studio time, travel, and production costs for recording my song in Nashville. If you feel led, I would be so grateful for your support in helping me bring "Shores" to life and share its message of hope with others. Every contribution, big or small, means so much to me. Thank you for considering being part of this journey.
