Help Me Rebuild My Life and Find Safe Housing
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Darryll Walsh, and I never thought I’d find myself in the position of writing something like this. But life has taken an unexpected and difficult turn, and I’m reaching out with deep humility and hope.
I’m currently facing eviction from my apartment in Halifax due to circumstances beyond my control. I’ve been sharing this space with a roommate whose struggles with addiction have caused us both to lose our home. This situation has left me in a state of crisis, without the means to secure stable housing on my own.
Due to multiple mental health conditions, including severe social anxiety disorder, I’ve been unable to work. I survive on a very limited income through provincial social assistance and have had to draw on my modest Canada Pension Plan early, which sadly doesn’t stretch far enough to cover basic living costs like rent and utilities.
I’ve been on the waiting list for seniors housing for over 3 years, but there’s no telling when a spot will open up. In the meantime, I’m at risk of homelessness and urgently need help to secure a safe and stable place to live.
I’m asking for help—not for luxury or comfort, but simply for survival. Your support will help cover rent, utilities, and basic needs while I wait for affordable housing to become available. Any donation, no matter the size, will make a real and immediate difference.
If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this page with others. That kindness alone means more than you know.
Thank you for reading my story, and for your compassion in this very difficult time.
With gratitude,
Darryll
