Two years ago, my life changed in an instant.
I suffered a stroke that turned everything upside down — physically, emotionally, and mentally. In fact the doctors told me I was just 4 hours from dying. It was the darkest time of my life.
What once felt normal became a daily challenge. Simple things many take for granted… walking, speaking, focusing, even just having energy — suddenly required strength, patience, and relentless determination.
But I’m still here. And I’m still fighting.
Over the past two years, I’ve pushed myself every single day to recover, rebuild, and regain as much independence as possible. There have been small wins, setbacks, intense pain and moments where giving up felt easier… but I haven’t stopped.
Now, I have the opportunity to access further specialist treatment and rehabilitation that could significantly improve my recovery and quality of life.
Unfortunately, the costs for the treatment are way more than I can manage alone.
The Comeback… and the Setback
Through intense rehabilitation, I made progress.
I fought every day to regain movement, strength and independence.
And for a moment… it felt like I was getting my life back.
But recovery from a stroke isn’t linear.
Over time, my condition began to decline again.
Now I face:
- Ongoing weakness on my left side
- Difficulty walking
- Constant fatigue
- Breathing issues during sleep (sleep apnea)
- Emotional and mental challenges that come with it
