Help Me Rebuild My Independence After My Spinal Cord Injury
Donation protected
On September 4th ‘24, my life changed in an instant. A bike accident left me with a high spinal cord injury, turning everyday tasks into major challenges. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned through this journey, it’s that I refuse to let this define me. I am determined to reclaim my independence and build a future where I can live fully, despite the obstacles ahead. Meaning; being a meaningful father and husband, get back into my professional live @TSH, but also discovering new sports! I hope to do physical activities again with the family; being the football coach of my kids, sailing, able to travel and visit our amazing hotels (projects) across Europe.
…Living a new life, starting a new chapter… different but with the same energy, intention, passion and love!
The road ahead is not easy—both physically, mentally… but to be honest also financially. Adjusting my home and garden alone requires an investment of €150,000 for essential modifications like lifts, an adapted kitchen, automatic doors and an accessible bathroom. To regain my mobility, I also need an adapted car/van, allowing me to drive and regain my freedom.
Most importantly, after my rehabilitation (which I aim to complete by May), I want to continue training to improve my physical strength and independence. Unfortunately, this crucial next step is not covered by insurance and will cost approximately €50,000.
While these numbers are overwhelming, I believe in the power of community. I am fundraising €250,000 to help ease these financial burdens and take the next steps toward an independent life. Any contribution—big or small—will make a world of difference in helping me regain my strength, mobility, and autonomy.
If you can support me, whether by donating or sharing my story, I would be forever grateful. Every bit of help brings me closer to standing strong in this new chapter of my life.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart
