Help me rebuild my home after DUI tragedy

On Saturday, October 4th, at around 2:00 a.m., my life was completely turned upside down. A drunk driver crashed his car into my apartment, trapping me and my animals inside. The impact caused devastating damage, left me injured and in the hospital, and tragically took the life of one of my beloved dogs. Anyone who knows me knows how much my dogs mean to me they are my world. Losing her has been heartbreaking beyond words.

The driver’s car ended up in my living room, destroying nearly everything inside, including my furniture and personal belongings. I was told I had one day to remove whatever I could before the apartment was locked up due to safety hazards. While trying to gather my belongings and also care for my injuries, another disaster struck: a water leak flooded my home because the water wasn’t shut off after the accident. Hours passed before anyone came to help, and by then, most of what little I had salvaged was ruined.

Now I am left with no safe place to stay and the overwhelming task of replacing everything I’ve lost. The damage caused by this drunk driver is something I’ll never fully recover from emotionally, mentally, or financially. Beyond the physical destruction, I am struggling with severe anxiety and trauma. I no longer feel safe in my own home, and every loud noise brings panic. What was once my safe space has been taken from me, and I am trying to find the strength to start over.

I am asking for help to cover immediate needs, finding somewhere safe to stay, replacing essential belongings, and beginning to rebuild my life after this unimaginable event.
