Hola, mi nombre es Sara Serna y tengo 20 años. Actualmente vivo en Maracaibo, Venezuela, con mi mamá. El pasado sábado 24 de octubre sufrimos un acontecimiento terrible. Conociendo la ineptitud de los entes públicos de mi país y la falta de mantenimiento a las áreas públicas, una de las tuberías madre de gas doméstico cercana a mi casa combustionó, generando una explosión en el sistema de mi vivienda (gas que nunca recibimos y por tanto nos servimos de gas por bombona), lo que ocasionó daños irreparables en ella.
Aparte de todas las cosas materiales que perdí, mi madre resultó gravemente afectada, sufriendo quemaduras de tercer grado que afectaron el 80% de su cuerpo. Ella se encuentra actualmente bajo tratamientos intensivos en la unidad de quemaduras del hospital La Coromoto en la ciudad de Maracaibo; se encuentra en un estado crítico.
La razón por la cual acudo a la ayuda de todos ustedes es debido a que ya no poseo un techo bajo el cual vivir dignamente, ya que también gran parte de todos mis electrodomésticos, muebles y vestimenta están perdidos en su totalidad, considerando también que todo el sistema eléctrico y de gas doméstico se encuentran completamente dañados. Para más colmo, los tratamientos de mi mamá y los costos del hospital son incosteables para mí. De esta manera, recibiendo su ayuda, sé que mi mamá y yo seremos que capaces de poder conseguir un sitio para vivir y disponer de aquellos utencilios básicos para el día a día que desafortunadamente hemos perdido y costear su tratamiento, permitiéndole así tener una oportunidad para vivir.

Hello, my name is Sara Serna and I am 20 years old. I currently live in Maracaibo, Venezuela with my mother. The past Saturday, October 24th we suffered a terrible event. Due to the ineptiveness of the public entities in my country and the lack of maintenance of the public areas, one of the main domestic gas pipelines near my house ignited itself, generating an explosion in the system of my house (a gas that we never receive and thereby we use domestic gas tanks instead), causing irreparable damages to it.
Besides all of the material things that I lost, my mother resulted heavily affected, suffering third degree burns in 80% of her body. She is currently under intensive treatments in the burn unit of the La Coromoto hospital in Maracaibo city; she is in a critical state.
The reason why I'm asking for the help of all of you is because I no longer have a roof in which I can live beneath with dignity, as I also lost most of all of my appliances, furniture and clothes; considering as well that all the electric system and the domestic gas pipelines of my house are completely damaged. Not to mention, my mother's treatment and the hospital's fees are almost unaffordable for me. In this way, by receiving your help, I know that my mom and I will be capable of finding a place to live in and have those essentials for our daily living which we unfortunately lost as well as paying all of the necessary treatments, giving her an opportunity to live.
