What is happening
In June, I lost my job after asking for accommodations following a late-in-life diagnosis. The accommodations weren’t granted. I’m rebuilding carefully, honestly, and with my health in mind.
Why this training, and why now
I’m in the middle of a 12-week disability-focused yoga and meditation teacher certification. The training is underway. What I’m asking for help with is simple: paying for everyday living expenses while I finish it.
I enrolled before I lost my job. It isn’t a new idea I reached for in a crisis; it’s a commitment already in motion. I want to teach yoga that works for disabled and neurodivergent bodies and minds, with accommodation built in from the beginning and not added as an afterthought. I’ve led meditation and mindfulness practices informally for years, and this training helps me turn that into work I can offer professionally and sustain with my health.
What this fundraiser covers
Everyday living expenses for the three months of the program: groceries, utilities, bills, and other basics. Every dollar goes to day-to-day costs while I finish training. I’m also still looking for work. This fundraiser is a bridge, not a replacement for that effort.
If you’re able to help
If it’s within your means, a gift of any size would mean a great deal to me. Even $20 helps. If giving isn’t possible right now, please know that is completely okay. Sharing this page with someone who might be able to help is just as meaningful. And if you know of mutual aid or small-grant leads in the disability community, I would be grateful for a pointer.
Thank you for reading, and for any care you’re able to offer through this chapter.
Rebuilding as a yoga teacher. Leaning into dignity. Persisting in hope.
