I never imagined I would have to say this out loud.

I survived a shotgun wound to my face.

That sentence alone still feels unreal. The physical pain was something I had to fight through, but the aftermath has been even harder. Multiple surgeries. Ongoing medical care. Healing that isn’t just physical but emotional too.

Because of the damage and complications from the injury, I am no longer able to work the way I used to. Everyday tasks take more energy. Appointments are frequent. Recovery is ongoing. My life changed in a moment.

One of the biggest challenges I’m facing right now is transportation. I need a reliable vehicle to get to medical appointments, therapy, and to take care of my responsibilities. With a limited income once a month, this has become an overwhelming obstacle.

Asking for help is not easy for me. But surviving something like this has taught me that strength also means knowing when to lean on others.
