In Spring 2026, my life changed in a matter of minutes. An electrical fire tore through my home while I was inside. I tried everything to stop the fire but it was too massive. Thankfully, I was able to escape safely with my puppy. But then I had to stand outside and watch the home I had poured my heart, savings, and future into burn.
I had spent years working on and renovating this house, turning it into my home. I was finally finished. Then, in the span of an hour, my home and nearly everything I owned was gone. The fire destroyed the house and everything inside. What the flames didn’t take was severely damaged by smoke and water. My clothes, furniture, personal belongings, and irreplaceable memories disappeared with it.
At first, I believed insurance would allow me to rebuild and move forward. Instead, I learned that my coverage would only cover about half of the total damages and costs, leaving a devastating gap between what insurance will pay and what it will actually take to rebuild my home and my life.
Asking for help is incredibly difficult for me. I’ve always been much more comfortable helping others than being the person who needs help. But the reality of what it will take to recover from this is more than I can handle alone, which is why I’m creating this GoFundMe.
Right now, the funds will go toward housing, clothing, essentials, and helping me recover what I lost and cover the enormous expenses insurance won’t. No amount is too small, and if you aren’t able to donate, simply sharing my story can make an incredible difference.
Despite everything I lost that day, I walked out of that fire with what mattered most: my life, my puppy, and hope for the future. Everything else can be rebuilt. With your help, I hope I can make that road a little easier and finally begin putting the pieces of my life back together.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support, your kindness, and for taking the time to hear my story.
